A hybrid inverter is the heart of a home solar power system with energy storage. It converts solar energy, manages battery charging and provides backup power during grid outages.
1. Determine the required power
Calculate the total power of simultaneously running loads. 5–6 kW is enough for an apartment or small house, 8–12 kW for a cottage, 12–20 kW for a large house with a heat pump. Deye inverters deliver 2x peak power for 10 seconds to handle starting currents.
2. Single phase or three phase?
For a 230 V single phase input choose Deye SUN-...LP1 models (3–16 kW). For a 400 V three phase input — SG04LP3/SG05LP3 (LV battery) or SG01HP3 (HV battery) series. Deye three phase models support 100% unbalanced load.
3. LV or HV batteries
LP models work with 48 V batteries — simpler and cheaper for systems up to 10–15 kWh. HP models use 160–800 V high voltage batteries: lower currents, higher efficiency, best for 15+ kWh.
4. MPPT trackers
Panels on differently oriented roof slopes need separate MPPT trackers. Most Deye hybrid models have 2 trackers, flagship HV models up to 10.
