Connecting Batteries to a Deye Inverter: Compatibility and BMS Setup

Correct battery connection to a hybrid inverter ensures long system life. Deye native batteries (RW-M6.1, SE-G5.1, GB-L, BOS-G) pair automatically via CAN bus. Third-party LiFePO4 batteries are supported via CAN/RS485 protocols selectable in the inverter menu. Lead-acid batteries work in voltage mode with manual absorption/float settings.

Common mistakes

Undersized cables — 100 A requires at least 35 mm².
Missing DC fuse or breaker between battery and inverter.
Wrong CAN bus termination with multiple parallel batteries.
